Reviews
Owned several of this model since 2015
"The previous model was still working after five years, but I wanted this new sleek version for a remodeled kitchen. In my experience, this model works great for about two years if it is properly maintained. After each use, I clear the grinder which is easily done by simultaneously pressing two buttons. Once a week, I remove the hopper, take out the grind mechanism and brush clean. That process is also quite easy amd takes little effort. Don’t overfill the hopper, as it must be closed for the machine to engage and operate. Clean the basket after use and regularly brush out the grinding shoot hole as well. All this is pretty simple and takes little, time to do. The machine will alert when it is time to descale. It is important to descale regularly, just do it. With basic maintenance, this machine works beautifully. The coffee tastes great, although the temperature is probably 189 vs the perfect 192–if that’s important to you. I set to medium grind, 6 and add water to almost the 10 line. Plate stays hot for 2 hours, glass carafe taste is fine throughout that period but typically we drink the pot within 75 minutes. This model, for us, is used daily, making one pot in the morning. Our experience is that it stops working 18-24 months. One machine failed after six months and it was easily and quickly replaced under warranty, Capresso service for us has been very good."

A grind and brew coffeemaker that is as good as it gets.
"Our new coffeemaker came well packed and very promptly from 1st in Coffee. We bought the Capresso CoffeeTeam Pro Plus Glass to replace a Capresso 452 Team Plus we have had for many years. It was only due to a minor broken part for which there is no replacement available anymore that we decided to "bite the bullet" and buy a new one. We love having fresh ground coffee, and the grinder on our old coffee maker was excellent. It was only after an extensive review of the "listed as best" coffee makers that we selected this particular model. It is designed in such a way that, not only is it an improvement over our old model, but also overcomes design shortcomings of other grind and brew coffee makers. The most significant feature is its ability to prevent steam from rising into the bean receptacle. We tend to like dark roasted coffee which often has oily coffee beans. Most of the other models either could not handle such beans or did not handle them well often getting clogged. This coffee maker has a couple of easy settings designed for oily beans. We have already put it to the test and find it to work well. In fact, we find the coffee to taste better than with our old Capresso grind and brew coffeemaker. The water sprayed onto the ground beans seems to be more even than on other coffeemakers. Now, the amount of coffee in the pot is equal to the amount of water poured into the bin. The removable water bin has been great for filling it with filtered water from our refrigerator even though the water dispenser is inside and not through the door. Each side of the coffeemaker water bin is curved and narrow in such a way as to easily fit under the inside water spout. The water bin is marked with easy to read cup measurements. So, for us, it is easy to fill to the six cup level. Also the water bin can be filled to 12 cups, whereas our old unit had a limit of 10 cups. Maintenance is easy and straight forward. It is important to read the instructions that come with the coffeemaker and follow them to keep the coffeemaker running properly every day and clog-free. It is easy to remove the coffee bean bin and the upper grinder to brush off the teeth, a feature we did not have on our old coffeemaker. Also, after the coffeemaker has ground the proper amount of beans the grinder will run briefly to clear ground bean residue. The hot plate on this model keeps our coffee hotter than our old unit, so we are not constantly having to microwave our cup of coffee. There is an automatic feature that is very handy for making the coffee at a prescribed time, however we have not tried it. The machine seems to be well-built and reliable. We have not had it long enough to speak to that. There were a couple of times the coffeemaker did not seem to finish its process. However, I realized both times it was my fault. The water bin needs to be placed snuggly on its base and the bean bin needs to be covered and not opened during the grinding process. Simple things to follow. The size of the coffeemaker may appear to be large to someone who has had a small conventional coffeemaker. It does fit on our counter below the hanging cabinets with no problem. However, we have it positioned sideways on the counter to easily access the water bin in the back of the unit and to allow the steam to rise out of the right side away from the cabinet above."

Great machine.
"A great machine. This is the third unit we have purchased from First in coffee. We used all three extensively. Great product and very good service from First in Coffee. Thank you."

Some maintenance required
"I am totally impressed with this machine, but I like things mechanical. A huge effort had to have been made to make this work. There are things to consider: Patience to learning it's nuances and time for careful cleaning. With my old pot and grinder I was less than diligent with it's upkeep and cleaning
What I've learnt;
Lesson #1 Not a good idea to leave grounds in the filter cup after a brew as it creates a moisture problem increasing changes for faulty discharge of grounds.
Lesson #2 learn the "Grind & Clean Cycle" as it helps prevent clogs that will occur no matter how careful you are.
After two weeks and only one call to the help line I am at peace with my machine. You gotta love waking to the sound of coffee being ground, but then, I'm a 'gearhead'."

Capresso - a top choice for drip
"I am a coffee aficionado. I alps have busy work schedule, and need convenice. Capresso is the best blend of both worlds.
It is the only drip model with a high quality conical grinder that you can also program completely without complex instructions. The grinder and drip are high quality.
I had the prior model and it held up with daily use for 6 years. I only replaced it because I never descaled or did anything beyond basic cleaning, and wanted an update.
As for quality of coffee- I use lavazza mainly, and the cups come out excellent. Good aroma. No burn on the grind. You may get a slightly better cup with techniworm but it won’t grind at all- so you would need to do that step separately. Very inconvenient and needs a lot more time commitment."

Campresso
"Have a Jura but wanted something cheaper for a second home. Makes great coffee. We couldn't figure out how to turn it off. You can wait two hours for the auto turnoff but that doesn't work if you want it off now. The info center said to unplug it. We found if there is no water in it that pushing the brew button turns the machine off. We love our Jura which I would call an A. Comparing the two, would call this machine a B. But makes really good coffee and we are happy with our choice."
