As seen in the New York Times, discover the illy Art Collection designed by an internationally renowned artist. “What do I see when I look into a hole?” Anish Kapoor has played around with the illy cup and subverted its use: by placing the platinum saucer with the hole in the centre on the top, the flickering reflections become form and touch on themes such as doubt, ambivalence, error, mystery, surprise and the desire to understand. This collection is a set of two espresso cups.

Anish Kapoor was born in Bombay in 1954 and has lived in London since the early 70s when he studied at Hornsey College of Art and Chelsea School of Art Design. With blazingly reflective metal surfaces or dark, plush, seemingly infinite interiors, his pieces dispense multiple visual thrills and mysteries. But the same effects can make his work appear tricky, decorative and shallow. Over the past twenty years he has exhibited extensively all over the world with solo shows and in many group shows.
