Features of the Cuisinart CHW-14 Coffee Maker with Hot Water System:
Fully Automatic – While the Cuisinart CHW-14 can be operated as a regular coffee maker whenever you wish, the integrated clock and timer can be set to automatically turn on and then turn off the coffee maker at the time you desire. Coffee can be ready when you awake, or set it to be done brewing when dinner is finished so you can have a fresh pot - The coffee does not have to wait for you, and you don't have to wait for your coffee!
1 to 4 Cup Special Setting – There are times when a full pot of ten cups of coffee is too much. Press the “1-4” button when brewing less than five cups. The machine is now set to properly brew a smaller pot.
10 Cup Thermal Carafe keeps coffee fresh and hot.
Carafe – The stylish 10-Cup Carafe Is more than just good looks. It has a drip-free pour spout and a comfortable handle to make pouring clean and easy.
Brew Pause™ – Grab a cup of coffee whenever you wish with the Brew Pause feature. This allows you to remove the carafe and pour a cup before the full pot has completed the brew cycle.
Charcoal Water Filter – A charcoal water filter is included which fits in the coffee maker's reservoir. This helps to remove impurities from the water which might affect the taste of the coffee.
Gold Tone Filter – The permanent gold-tone filter means you taste more of the coffee without the possibility of the flavor of a paper filter coming through.
Cleaning Alert – Near the clock there is a button marked “CLEAN.” If the light in the button flashes the machine is telling you that there is a need to decalcify the coffee maker for proper operation. This is simply a matter of running a white vinegar and water solution through the machine. It is an easy procedure, fully explained in the owners manual. Carrying this out regularly helps keep the machine operating properly as well maintaining the taste of the coffee.
Hot Water System Features
Hot Water On Demand – The separate hot water system can be used on its own, or even used at the same time a pot of coffee is being brewed. There is no need to leave it on because it heats up fast to allow you to make oatmeal, soup, tea, cocoa, and anything that needs some hot water. Even a noodle cup!
Independent Operation – The hot water system has its own power button and heating element and a separate 54-ounce water reservoir. All operations of the hot water system are independent of the coffee maker portion of the Cuisinart CHW-12. It's like having two machines in one!
Easy to Use – When the indicator lamp shows that hot water is ready, just place your cup or container into the dispensing area and press the lever to dispense hot water. Release the lever to stop the flow of water.
Indicator Lights – The hot water system has indicator lamps that let you know when water is hot and ready to dispense, and also alert you when the reservoir needs refilling.
Removable Drip Tray – The drip tray helps to keep the counter clean, but if you wish to use a taller cup, such as a travel mug, the drip tray can be easily removed.
Safety Lock Feature – The water from the hot water system is quite hot, and if there are children in the home this can present a hazardous situation. To help prevent injury, there is a recessed safety lock which, when engaged, prevents hot water from being dispensed.
Charcoal Water Filter – The hot water system even has its own charcoal filter to help remove impurities from the water which have the potential of altering the taste of your beverage.
Separate Reservoir – The hot water reservoir is easily accessed under its own lid on top of the machine. A “Max.” mark in the reservoir makes it easy to see how much water to add.
The Cuisinart CHW-14 comes with a limited 3-Year Warranty. Both the coffee maker and hot water system are BPA Free.
